Pečenie je istý druh umenia. Niektoré šikovné babičky a mamičky sa s koláčikmi dlho nebabrú. Pripravia si cesto, vyrežú si z neho rôzne tvary a následne hodia do rúry zapiecť. Ale mladá cukrárka z Kalifornie uprednostňuje iný štýl pečenia.

Liz Joy je doslova umelkyňa v pečení! Jej koláčiky sú hotové majstrovské diela kulinárskeho umenia. Liz nevyrezáva z cesta obyčajné tvary ako sú hviezdičky alebo motýliky, ona sa s cestom pohraje, dokonca aj niekoľko hodín, až napokon vám jej výsledná práca vyrazí dych!

Na pečenie a ozdobovanie koláčov používa okrem fantázie aj cukrové polevy a glazúry, jedlé farby a trblietavé cukrové postrekovače.

I felt like shaking things up today by wearing real daytime clothes. Then I figured I might as well make a coordinating cookie. Wow has this week taken a toll on my creative mojo. These cookies were supposed to be part of a set for my Endocrinologist (he has the snazziest footwear collection), but between starting and finishing them, everything came crashing down. Now I’m not even sure when I’ll see Dr. Marcus in person again. 🤷🏻‍♀️ _______________________________________________________ I’m sad when I’m not creating, but I’m not good at creating when I’m sad, so it’s a weird place to get stuck. Jay encouraged me to finish these in an effort to get my mojo back (or possibly because now he gets to eat them… 🤔). _______________________________________________________ These cookies are decorated mostly with royal icing. I used @fatdaddios fondant for the leather details and soles of the shoes. The brogue design is inspired by @burberry and the trouser socks are from @paulsmith. I’m finally getting through the post-CookieCon haze and beginning to work on some new treat concepts. But for now here’s a throwback to one of my very favorite pieces, made for @modernluxury and inspired by @inesdisanto. _______________________________________________________ This wedding gown cookie is decorated mostly with @fatdaddios fondant. I emphasized some of the lace details by over-piping with royal icing and and painting with @poppypaints pearl. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of making lippie cookies. This guy is decorated with a combo of royal icing and @renshawbaking fondant. The painted details are done with @thesugarart powders, and I glossed the tongue with a mix of @poppypaints Super Shine + corn syrup + Everclear. I’ve had this cookie idea stuck in my brain for awhile now and finally managed to try it out. The windows and window box bases are naked cookies painted with @poppypaints. The windows are actually three layers: 1) the window frame (the panes are @simicakes1 isomalt and the curtains are edible fabric that I attached to the back of the frame), 2) a shim layer to add depth, and 3) a base layer I painted with a yellow-orange gradient. The flowers are fondant dusted with @thesugarart’s Elite Colors, the leaves are royal icing, and the shutters are a combo of RI and fondant.
